STEM Rotating Starship: A Science and Engineering Challenge. This science and engineering challenge will see students create a starship that rotates when dropped. It engages the students and challenges to think about flight and what determines flight. This challenge looks at speed, direction, size and use of wings. This pack contains everything you need. All you need to do is print it off and you are up and running. It can be used as either a group activity or individual. I usually do it as a group as then you can allocate members various roles within the group. Included are instructions, templates and extension question sheet. Zombies have taken over in this Creative Writing Scenario. This Creative Writing Scenario takes the students on an engaging journey escaping from Zombies. They find refuge in a church, with no escape. Until, that is, they spot an axe outside the window. The students decide what happens next. This pack includes a 5 senses graphic organizer to be completed while they watch the presentation. It is used to generate ideas and used as a basis for extending their vocabulary. About Me passport An about me ticket to a well organised and well structured class. Everyone wants to go on an adventure to a great classroom with the promise of an exciting year ahead. This is the students passport for their adventure and the student/teacher contract for a safe and fun filled time. Instructions are given on how to make this effective passport. Students simply fold it and cut along the dotted line. When students have meet the requirements they color in the appropriate sticker. Enjoy your year.

The games shuffle ability assures that no two games are ever the same which means you can use the same resource multiple times. I typically put the class into small groups and ask a member of the group to choose a color and number. That is the question that they have to answer. If correct they get one point. Then I move to the next group. Alternatively the whole class answers and then we tally up the points to get a winner. I run it on an interactive whiteboard but would be equally successful on a projector, computer or TV screen. Alternatively it could be run for an individual student on their own device. When you start the game press the shuffle button to randomize the questions ensuring that no game is ever the same. This means that this Jeopardy game can be used multiple times with the one class as it is different every time. This is a PowerPoint Macro Show. To run the game double click the file and make sure you say "yes" to running macros. If you do not the questions will not shuffle correctly. I have tested on a PC but it should work on other devices. STEM Paperclip Boat: A Science and Engineering Challenge. This science and engineering challenge will challenge students about water tension. Students will conduct science experiments to introduce themselves to the concept of water tension and how heavy objects can be made to look like they are floating.. Recording sheets are provided for students to write their observations and conclusions on. For the advanced students extension questions are provided to extend their knowledge. Also included is a technology challenge. This pack contains everything you need (except paperclips). All you need to do is print it off and you are up and running. Mu torere is said to be the only native board game of the Maori. It is played on the points and centre of an 8-pointed star, by two players with four pieces each. The object of the game is to block your opponent so they cannot move. Mu Torere is the perfect game to celebrate Matariki, or Waitangi Day, especially if it is raining. I also put the boards in my math game area for my math rotations and early finishers. I have included 2 different game boards. First ,the traditional star board and the other being more of a wheel design (My students seem to prefer this one) Further I have included some counters for it (Or just use your plastic ones). Oh yes I have included instructions on how to play. Simply print, cut and laminate for a long lasting resource. I laminate the game board on one side and the instructions on the other.

This resource is perfect for your Reduce Reuse Recycle Unit or any other caring for the environment study. It has 15 sorting cards to cut and paste into either the reduce, reuse or recycle areas on a ‘Y’ chart. I used this activity to start a ‘Trash to Treasure’ unit that my class did. This Bingo game is also useful all year round when your are needing to reinforce positive classroom relationships. In particular perfect for those hard to reach classes all year round. The games can run on computers, whiteboards or projectors. All that is required is that you print, cut and laminate the Boards and press start on the PowerPoint Show. There are 30 different Boards for your students to choose from and with the shuffling ability of the game, every game is different so that your students do not get bored of it. This game is self timed with a 10 second interval between the questions giving the students enough time to mark off or put a counter on their Board. Enjoy.

Celebrate the Commonwealth Games 2022 Birmingham with this fun 5 in a row bingo game. There are enough cards for the whole class. 35 bingo cards included. I have played this game with my own class this week and they loved it. On each screen is a high quality image of the countries flag so that students can begin to associate which flag goes with which country. This game can be run on computers, whiteboards or projectors. All that is required is that you print, cut and laminate the Number Boards and press start on the PowerPoint Show. If you don’t have access to the technology, no problem, I have included a document with all of the country names on. Then you can do it old school and pull them out of a hat. The order of countries can be simply changed by pressing the shuffle button at the start. Each slide stays there for 10 seconds before it transitions to the next slide. If you want it to go quicker then simply click on it. I prefer to let it just run as it gives me a bit of quiet time while all the students are engaged. This Commonwealth Games word search is huge. Personally, I printed it off on A3 paper as it has all of the 70 Nations and Territories that are attending the Commonwealth Games in 2022. I actually “buddied up” some of my struggling students to keep them focused as 70 words takes time. My others loved the competitive challenge. Enjoy
